Our Wedding Party

Wedding parties are great!  They are comprised of your best friends, and in our case we got to spend two days with them all there by our sides between them being there and helping set up at the rehearsal, and the day of our wedding.

Our wedding party!
The bridesmaids all chose their own dresses in a taupe color range.
These were my lovely ladies!

This is my Matron-of-Honor, Deana.  She has been my best friend since sophomore year of college when we hung out after class, took ballroom dancing, took naps after ballroom dancing, ate chocolate, ate ice cream, and went on random campus photo shoots.  She is super fun, and also a hard worker.  We can't thank Deana and her husband enough for how much they helped out at our wedding!

This is my bridesmaid, Sherry.  She has been my roommate for the past 3 years.  We met randomly while we were both looking for an apartment and the apartment managers told us they wouldn't pair roommates.  Then they realized (as we were asking the same question right next to each other to different people) that we both wanted to live there and both needed a roommate.  We talked to each other for about 30 seconds, she told me she didn't smoke and drink, I told her I was learning Chinese, and the rest was history.  I'm so glad after 3 years to say she is one of my best friends - and I always love telling the story of how we met!

This is my Sister-In-Law, Kelsey.  She is two years younger than Tyler and has been attending OU as well for the past 3 years.  One of my favorite stories is about how our Thursday night coffee and study dates at my apartment last semester always turned into sleepovers!  She is lots of fun, and we both enjoy picking on Tyler together...well, he says ganging up, but we mean well.  ;)  Kelsey now lives with Sherry, I like to think of us all as a big happy family!

All the girls chose their own dresses, and I think they all turned out gorgeous!
These were our lovely Pebble Girls.  They are both my little cousins, and did a great job!
Read more on our decision to have pebble girls instead of flower girls here.

These are Tyler's guys.  On the left is Louis, the best man.  We've known Louis since our freshman year of college, and have lots of fun memories with him!  On Tyler's right is Joey, a friend from church.  The two met during a summer project with our church two summers ago and have been buddies since.  Next is Wei.  Wei is my bridesmaid Sherry's boyfriend, and he and Tyler hit it off.  Since our apartment was the place to be, Tyler and Wei were always there for dinner and to see us, so they became great friends in the process.

We also left it up to the groomsmen to decide what to wear.  We told them in general a color from brown to taupe, but that whatever they could find would work.  I bought their ties (at TJ Maxx mind you, and for only $7.99 a tie) to give them a color to start with, and had no idea what they were wearing until I saw them as I was walking down the isle.  I've got to hand it to these guys, they are all wearing different things, but I don't think it could have coordinated ANY better!  Impressed with their man skills...well, their girls might have helped them some too.  Not sure on that one!

They were really excited about the wedding!!

We love our wedding party...our day wouldn't have been the same without them!

We want to thank Birds and Coffee Design for all of our wedding photography!  All the photos on this page are credited to them!

  7. This is the way I would do it, if I could do it again. I am showing this to my daughter. I love seeing the personality of your wedding party.
Our readers love this kind of design advice. I think think it would do well in our weekly Super Saturday Link Party. We would be honored to have you link up any time at MadeFromPinterest.net!

    1. Thanks so much, I'll check that out! I like it that they'll be able to use the dresses for something else too...that usually doesn't happen with traditional bridesmaids dresses!
