It all started with a small piece of scrap wood. The beginning of Fall. This little project only took a few minutes, but will look great leaning against a pot of mums, or in any autumn themed space!
First, I stained the wood. Always stain the wood! :)
Here we go, nice and stained!
I let the stain "dry" for a few minutes (okay, I'm impatient) and used a creamy white to color block a pumpkin shape.
I then used brown to make a stem and shade in some grooves. I went in with another layer of cream to highlight the top of the pumpkin, as well as highlight the top of the stem.
And there you have it! A new Fall decoration that only took you 10 minutes...assuming you didn't wait the allotted time for the stain to dry. ;)
That's so cute! And 10 minutes? That's if I can draw a pumpkin! ;) Okay it can't be that hard but still!
ReplyDeleteIt might have taken a little bit longer...I didn't really time it...but it felt like 10 minutes! haha And I'm sure you could print a pumpkin out to use as a stencil if you aren't sure about drawing one!
DeleteI definitely agree with you on the stained thing. Stained wood is ever so much prettier!
ReplyDeleteI love how stain can transform a piece of wood! :)

DeleteThis is my kind of craft. I can rummage through the hubby's wood scraps to do it and I can finish it before the kids even figure out that they should be bothering me.
ReplyDeleteHaha, Jen...I think this project just might be right for you! :P
