This was the first time I've had any real Fourth of July festivities in which to participate in 4 to 5 years! It was fun going to wally world with the future hubby to buy fruit, dessert and steak, of course. I'm so glad that even though I had to work both July 4th and July 5th that I was able to enjoy the holiday!
If you didn't read about it in my last post, I was destined to spend my next Fourth of July alone, until Tyler intervened and saved the day! (He's my hero!) He came as soon as I got off work at 8 this morning, and we spend the day together until the moment I left home to come back to work tonight. He's a sweetie, I'm so glad he took the time to celebrate the holiday with me on his day off, even though I wasn't necessarily off.
We bought some good ole fruits that are typical of this festivity...grapes, blueberries, strawberries and bananas...and of course made a flag cake.
Here is Tyler with our flag cake!
We (excuse me, *I*) had to cut the cake this way because SOMEONE decided to lick the cake! Shame on him!
The boy with his haircut that Miss Perfect..err..I, gave him. ;) I'd say I'm getting a little better? :/
We went to see fireworks at the Pauls Valley show tonight. Here's a picture from it, nice show!
Hope all the rest of you had a wonderful Fourth of July!
Loved your flag cake. Glad you got to celebrate. Thanks for stopping by Eliot's Eats.
ReplyDeleteOf course, Debra! I enjoyed reading your recipe, I'll remember it next time I'm hungry for BBQ. Thank you for stopping by as well!
