Family Heritage Photo Display Board

One of my favorite craft projects I have made in the past year is what I'm showing you today.  It was originally made for my wedding to incorporate the family lineages that were merging on the day of our wedding.  I also thought this would make an excellent gift for family members, thus I am posting this just a few weeks before Christmas!

With a little asking around and help from my sister-in-law, I was able to gather photos of all four sets of grandparents and both of our parents that were either from their wedding day, or when they were dating or newlyweds.  As I was so busy during the time I actually put it together, but the concept is so straight forward that you really don't need a tutorial to make on for yourself or someone in your family.

From our wedding day, we put it right in front of our cake.
P.S. My mom made that cake stand, and she has a shop on facebook called Ree's Rustic Artistry!  PW isn't the only Ree in town!

All you need is a really long pallet board, enough picture frames for your lineage to match, and some hot glue.  I attached our photo in the middle loosely since I changed the photo to one of our wedding photos later.  I organized the order of pictures by putting parents closest to us, and then based on how the parents are standing in the photo, I placed where their parent's pictures were accordingly.

I know the piece is a bit long, so let's have some close ups of our adorable families!  This is Tyler's side of the family.

And now my side of the family.

It took me a good six months to finally change the photo to a wedding photo, but here is the one I chose!

Sorry about the glare from the trees!  I just loved those leaves and had to take the pictures there.  Had to.

This piece sits above our coffee bar now, and we see it every day!  It's always good to remember where you came from, who loves you, and to have something tangible to remember them when you don't get to see them that often!
