Another great and super simple gift idea for the upcoming day of love is this cute little sign.
I actually made this sign as part of my husband's birthday gift last year, but saved it to post for Valentine's Day since the simplicity and thought of it is really great as a small handmade gift.
Plus, as I've said before...anything I make as a gift for someone has to have a lag before posting on the blog since quite a few people that I know and would make gifts for actually do read it.
All you need is some scrap wood, smooth pebbles, paint, some sort of clear protective finish, a metal hanger mechanism, and hot glue.
Use the metal hanger and nail to the back of it so if the person receiving the gift would like to hang it, they can!
I used a white paint pen to write the phrase on the pebbles and let them dry.
Next, I sprayed a clear coat of spray paint over them and allowed that to dry.
Arrange the rocks to where they take up the space well and hot glue them.
Lastly, I wrote some little unnecessary notes and doodles on the back for the hubby.
This is sweet, I love the song! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Erica! Me too, my mom used to sing it when I was little!
DeleteSo cute! I love the idea of using little pebbles for the letters instead of painting them directly on the wood!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel! It seemed appropriate to give to the guy who wanted to woo me into a relationship with him with his stories about rocks! haha
