Cheap and Easy Utensil Holder

Due to my recent wedding, I collected a lot (I mean a lot) of empty jars, since I used them all as vases.  Now that it is over, I am looking to re-purpose a lot of those empty jars.  This little jar is a spaghetti jar that I bought for the wedding. (Yes, you read that right.  I stopped buying the brands that I would normally buy because I started looking for the cutest jars in the store.  Was I a bridezilla, or maybe just wedding obsessed?)

I repurposed this little jar into a kitchen utensil holder.  I can't remember which brand this jar was, but it has cute little tomatoes all around the top - lots cuter than the jars that have just the brand name stamped in the glass.  I thought this one would be great for the bamboo spoons that my friend Sherry gave us.

All you'll want to do with the jar once you use all the spaghetti is first get all the paper off the jar.  Goo Gone is by far the best for this.  As long as you get most of the paper off first, it will make getting the glue off really easy.  If for some reason it is hard, use a metal scrub brush and the rest will come off.

Once you've accomplished getting the paper and glue off, you're ready to go.  On this one I just tied a piece of jute type rope around the top, dabbed some hot glue under the bow, and added some rocks to weight the bottom.

    1. Lena, I don't throw a glass jar away anymore! haha Maybe a little excessive, but if you put your mind to it you can always find a way to use them!
