My Coffee Friend is Going to Cambodia!

If you've been around my blog much, or if you know me, you know how much I enjoy traveling.

I like learning new things, about new people, in new places.

Well, I might not be traveling this time - but my best coffee friend (oddly enough, she is probably the only one of my best girl friends who I can go get coffee with) is going to Cambodia this summer!  Her name is Brittney!

This is Brittney and I, we 'ran into each other' at Starbucks.

Last summer Brittney obtained her certification to teach English as a second language, and is in hopes of putting it to good work this summer in Cambodia.  She wrote her story about the entire process on her blog Kallima:  Lessons of a Single Girl.  I highly encourage you to check out her story, and I'm sure she will write more posts about her process until she leaves, and while she is there.  I'm so excited to hear about her travels!

Her trip is through a Christian organization who sends Christian teachers with the goal of reaching the nations for Christ, as well as teaching English to students.  This means Brittney is not getting paid to go teach, and must actually pay all the funds herself.  I'm not sure how much a round-trip is to Cambodia, but a round trip to China is normally between $1,500 and $2,000 depending on the time of year.  Then she also has her living expenses while abroad.

If you also would like to help contribute to her trip, you can pray for her before she leaves and while she is there.

If you are interested in contributing financially you can visit the teachoverseas.org website and give a financial donation.  Her full name is Brittney Lynn Allison.

I don't know about you, but I can't wait to hear more about her trip!
